My husband said my poetry is "Surreal...um...existential, humorous, philosophical...bizarre." I said "Can I get complete sentence?" he said "Maybe?" But no. No, I could not.

Don't buy this collection for your grandmother for Christmas unless she's really, really cool and is either a transcendentalist or a knitter.

A sample poem:

I tried to be like the owl

Wide eyed and questioning 

“Who?” I asked. 

“WHO?” I demanded!

Who am I? 

Who ought I be? 

Who have I been? 

Who are you? 

I looked behind myself from the left

I looked behind myself from the right 

I regurgitated bones and fur

Detritus of ideas partially undigested

I’m no longer allowed in my local Starbucks. 

Apparently this all constitutes as antisocial behavior

 and was considered an overreaction to being asked 

 under what name I wanted my order.
